Overview

AM600 is a 13-storey residential development designed to accommodate flexible scenarios of internal arrangement within and across each level. The interplay of vertical and horizontal lines cascading up its stacked box facade is interjected with a promenade at its crown, linking the duplex penthouse to a private landscaped rooftop garden with a magnificent panoramic view.

Location

The structure sits on a triangular plot in Ain El Mreisseh, wedged in between high buildings, and offering the potential for sweeping views towards the Mediterranean Sea and the horizon.

Perspectives

At street level the design stands seamlessly with its context, with vertical elements splicing its stacked box frame facade and introducing a playful interplay of light and shadow within its interior spaces.

Concept

Responding to a challenging context, the design evolved by addressing clearances in the existing urban fabric, with a view to incorporating long vistas within the internal spaces of each apartment.

Diagrams

Choosing to condense the structure along the outer edge of the building, the internal arrangements were conceived as flexible scenarios with floor slabs extending out to embrace their open view.
Within this layout, the spaces of each level are maximised and afforded 3 different vistas; a panoramic view towards the Mediterranean sea due north and sun exposure from the south encircling the reception spaces on either side, as well as a view to the horizon to the west within the master bedroom spaces.
