FY chalets, is a composition of two semi detached living spaces. Responding to a challenging context, the design evolved by addressing the relationship, the tension and the merge first between both blocks and with their surrounding.
Located on the main road linking Faraya to Chabrouh Dam, the site offers exceptional views towards the Mzar mountain range as it cascades down a hillside.
The FY Chalets stand as two stone-clad monoliths with deep incisions carved to embrace daylight into every interior space, and large openings drawing the magical snowy landscape into their warmth.
The design of these semi-detached houses evolved with consideration given to the relationship they have to each other and to the seasonal harsh climate of the area. By utilizing the natural slope of the site, the chalets were developed with private gardens and access at different levels, allowing for proximity without compromising privacy.
