AM013
Overview
AM013 is another interior project assigned to rab-architects in AM 600 building,Ain el Mraisseh. The spatial layout of the apartment was re-configured in order to optimize and customize it to the client's lifestyle.
Perspectives
For a flexible everyday use, the dining table can be discretely pushed up against the island to maximize the floor area in the space, or pulled out from the island to reveal a long bench to accommodate a larger dinner party.
Concept
By removing the existing kitchen partitions and inserting a custom-designed kitchen island as a feature element”high enough to obscure the kitchen from the dining table, yet low enough to keep an overall open space”the design achieves a functional floorplan layout with spatial qualities fulfilling the client's needs.
Diagrams
Further use of dark materials in the entrance and in the bar niche unify the scheme by punctuating different zones within the space without sacrificing the apartment's functionality.
