Approached by a client to conceptualize a low budget interior of a restaurant unit, Cicchetti is an Italian bistro completing the Mar Mkhayel recreational fabric. By readdressing the spatial organization and exploring material definitions, the design was able to deliver a custom designed and spacious layout despite the different constraints.
The main material is the floor tile. It became a starting point of the design concept. The drawing of the tile gave a pace for whole interior.
An elongated open space combines the kitchen and the seating area that extends to the sidewalk. This area is characterized by a high ceiling exhibiting all the white ducts giving an industrial feel. The main façade acts as part of the seating area, so does the bar delimiting the kitchen.
